33. Expectations

Platinum Berlitz always did what was expected of her. She was studious and intelligent and everything she'd expected to be.

She was always a silent and polite lady, because it was expected. She read books, enlarging her knowledge because she was expected to. She trained her Pokemon well, as expected. (Even thought, it didn't sound reluctant at all, she loved them, every much.)

She insisted people calling her "Lady", because it was expected. (She never knew why everyone never called her name, apart from her parents. Sometimes, she almost forgot her name.) (That was why it hurt to know that the boys thought her name was "Lady")

Of age, she travelled to the peak of Mt Coronet obtain materials to make their personal family crest because she'd been expected to.

She was amazed by the closeness of Diamond and Pearl. She hadn't smiled so much before. (She didn't realize it, but it wasn't expected.) She realized she enjoyed their company. But she never gave a slight hint of it, because she'd not been expected to.

She feared what'd come if she did something wasn't expected.

But it was beside the point. She didn't have a choice. So she ignored her father's protest, she joined the battle. (Even though no one told her, she felt like she was expected to do this, as well. But it felt different, so good.)

With that, Platinum Berlitz felt no regret.
